Reflections on any aspect about the career

  Thanks to the year that I have been studying Anthropology, I must say that this career is too entertaining and interesting. Making us see and reflect on the doubts that arise and the interactions between different cultures I think has been one of the best things they have taught during this year in each signature. This really makes us appreciate every aspect of the different cultures that exist in the world, be it in their way of living, speaking, thinking, their religion, their clothing, the opinion they have about other people, the ways in which they interact with other cultures, and many others interesting aspects. I can say that the previous things makes it a bit easier to choose the specialization that each student has to choose (social anthropology, physical anthropology and archeology), since in a certain way each one has a different way of perceiving and studying these things, thus giving us reflections different to study. I'm too comfortable and happy to be studying ...

About my dogs

  The first dog I had was named Luna, she lived for almost 10 years. Luna was too affectionate, playful and always took care of us, everything was fine until her little heart fell ill. The day she died she really suffered; with my family we had a hard time seeing her like this, because she was disoriented and howling. When she finally left us, when we were saying goodbye to her, we realized that she had a tumor in her throat, which probably could have been some disease in her thyroid. I miss my Luna too much, but I still love her. The year after Luna left us, Kala arrived. She arrived at 3 months to brighten our days (now she has 2 years); she is very playful, that when one does not play with her she starts whining so that we pay attention to her, she is also too affectionate, she always wants to lie next to me in my bed and makes me caress her, in addition, she is also very curious, she is always sniffing everywhere, and when she goes out to the terrace, she always starts smelli...

¿Avocado with or without lemon?

  I think it is very necessary and interesting to talk about this, since we always, or most of the time, with my friends argue about it. The two positions say the following: Avocado with lemon: some people prefer this because it enhances the flavor, gives it more acidity and is more "fresh to eat". Avocado without lemon: Other people prefer this because that is how the natural flavor of the avocado feels, since the acidity of the lemon does not leave the rich flavor in the mouth. Personally, I prefer avocado without lemon a thousand times because I don't like to feel the acid, I feel that the lemon predominates a lot in the avocado, and I like the natural flavor of it more, simply with a little salt and oil, 10 / 10. I really love it without lemon.

MY FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY

  Well, my favourite piece of technology is my cellphone.  At first it belonged to my dad, but when my old cell phone stopped working last year, he decided to give me his and buy a new one (better that the one he gave me, obvious, lol).  The use that I give my cell phone is to do the jobs that the university gives me, play games that I like, take photos of the most of what I see some days, chat with my family and friends, watch series or movies, etc.  I believe that I am "addicted" to my cellphone, I use it all day and every day, and I really think that if I did not have it with me or if it did not exist, my life would be a little more difficult than now, because this technological object was created to facilitates people's lives, the communication between them, helps to entertainment them, and much more. This is a photo that I took with my cell phone when I just bought my plants.

Career things

  When I was a child I wanted to be a veterinarian because I liked animals a lot, but as I got older I realized that it was not the future I wanted for myself. When I was in school, the career of Anthropology caught my attention, the truth is that I don't remember why, but I liked it a lot. After the results of the PSU was delivered, I only applied to anthropology at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica and at the Universidad Chile, because I reached the score and I had no other career that caught my attention like this. So far my experience at the university has been very good despite being online, and I must say that the asignatures are super interesting. Once I get my degree I would like to work in the hunter-gatherer area and similar stuff, obviously as an archaeologist.

BIOGRAPHY

Camila Paz Miranda Valdés was born on October 26, 2001 in Calama, Chile. Her elementary and high school education, she was at the Instituto Santa María in Antofagasta, a school only for women, which did not have a good enough teaching base like the other schools in the chain. She lives with her mother, father, sister and dog Kala in Antofagasta due to the pandemic. She is currently studying anthropology at the Universidad de Chile but through online classes, since it is not safe to be with many people around thanks to the coronavirus. Camila really likes to read, listen to music, watch series, movies, etc., so she is taking advantage of her free time to be able to do all these things.                                                                                       ...
